SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
In 2005, for the first time, the Veolia Environnement businesses operating in Australia and New Zealand (Veolia Transport Australia, Veolia Water Australia/Veolia Water Systems Australia and New Zealand, and Collex-Onyx) combined to produce a Sustainable Development report.
The report identified key challenges for the company including controlling industrial water consumption, increasing the proportion of agricultural recycling of waste, encouraging sustainable transport options, controlling pollutant emissions, and increasing the percentage of renewable energies in global production.
It also features success stories from the company's three divisions.
In July 2006 the companies produced a companion volume and supplement to the 2004 report.
